The Georgia Cup

How It Works

From choosing a region to competing for the Cup, the path is seven steps long. Here is what to expect at each one.

  1. 01

    Choose Your Region

Select the Atlanta region closest to you.

  2. 02

    Register Your Team

    Enter information for both players.

  3. 03

    Submit GHIN Information

Both players submit GHIN numbers and current Handicap Index.

  4. 04

    Pay Entry Fee

Registering is free. Pay the $100 team fee by March 1, 2027.

  5. 05

    Receive Your Seed

Teams are placed into a region based on location and seeded for tournament play.

  6. 06

    Compete in Your Region

Start in the Championship Bracket. Lose once and you can stay alive in the Second Chance Bracket for $50.

  7. 07

    Reach the Final Four

Win your region and advance to the single-elimination Final Four.

Placement

Region placement

The region you choose on the map is a preference, not a placement. Each team is assigned to a region by the ZIP codes of its two players so that every regional bracket reflects where its teams actually live.

When both players share a region, placement is automatic. When a team's players live in different regions, the tournament committee reviews the registration and places the team in the most sensible region, taking the stated preference into account.

Each region holds 16 teams, and spots open in waves. When a region has no open spots, new teams join its waitlist.

Each Atlanta region holds 16 teams in its own bracket. Every team starts in the Championship Bracket; after a first loss, a team can enter the Second Chance Bracket for $50 per player. A second loss ends its run. The four region champions advance to the Final Four. Double elimination to win your region. Single elimination to win The Georgia Cup.
